Czech Center Museum Houston is a non-profit educational, cultural arts organization located in the Museum District. The Center’s mission is to preserve, record, and celebrate the language, scholarship and arts of Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia and Slovakia. Incorporated in 1996, the Center is open to the public for exhibits, concerts, lectures, language courses and other activities. This beautiful Baroque-style building houses a museum and Brno Gallerie with a permanent exhibit of antique furniture from European Castles, folk art such as toys, dolls, and figurines, traditional costume, an extensive collection of Bohemian Crystal and Czech porcelain and ceramics, antique jewelry as well as numerous paintings and Moravian hand painted pottery. The Center offers genealogy research and library resources. The Center includes Wenceslas ecumenical chapel, Prague Hall grand ballroom and business meeting rooms in addition to Prague International Gifts, featuring unique gifts of the Bohemian world such as Bohemian crystal and porcelain, antique Czech garnet jewelry and other collectibles from several countries, especially the Czech Republic. Visitors may tour the Czech Center or shop at our Prague International Gifts Shop Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For further information visit www.czechcenter.org or call 713.528.2060.
